Oakengates Town Council

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

Oakengates Town Council signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2022 to pledge their support and recognise the daily sacrifices serving personnel and their families make to serve our country and protect others.  We are proud to uphold the Armed Forces Covenant and continue our commitment to support to the Armed Forces Community.  We recognise and uphold fair treatment and equal access to services and actively promote opportunities for employment and training for forces family members.

About us

At Oakengates Town Council we celebrate and support our residents. The Council consists of 13 councilors who are elected every four years, the last elections were held in May 2023. Whilst the Town Council has no statutory services, we strive to undertake a bold plan to offer support for residents, community groups and businesses. The Wakes Community Centre and The Outpost Café is run for the benefit of residents. Every project endeavours to improve, protect and celebrate the Town’s fantastic heritage.  We also organise a busy programme of activities and events, as well as providing venue hire facilities to the community.
