Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
Airedale NHS Foundation Trust champion the Armed Forces in Acute Hospital Settings Programme which seeks to improve how we support members of the Armed Forces community within the hospital setting. We have also been formally reaccredited as ‘Veteran Aware’ by the Veterans Covenant Healthcare Alliance (VCHA).
We also hold Silver accreditation awarded by the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme which distinguishes organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the Armed Forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant. We encourage employment from the Ex Armed Forces Community recognising the many varied transferable skills. Within our workforce there are Armed Forces Veterans across many different departments including Porters, Estate’s, Administration, Practice Education, Nursing , Heads of Service and our Armed Forces Advocate.
